TAKE A WALK ON THE WEBSITE… 13/12/05
People getting out and about can now get on the right path with
the help of a new map.
The rights of way map on the Northumberland County Council website
gives full details of more than 3,000 miles of footpaths and bridleways
in the county to walk, ride or cycle
The interactive map is an easy guide where people can plan their
route, search for individual paths and zoom in and out for detailed
information. The traditional Ordnance Survey markings are used
to complement other maps.
Next steps include setting up an on-line service to report any
problems on the paths.
Councillor Alan Cutter, Executive Member for Environment and
Regeneration, said: Public rights of way are a great way
to get out and about to enjoy the outstanding quality of the Northumberland
countryside and explore our historic towns and villages.
The map is another step in making our services more accessible
and I know it will be an invaluable help to thousands of people.
The map and information on how to use the interactive map can
