Newcastle major hotel groups target tourists
NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau will break new ground
next month by actively targeting Germany for the first time as
a new market for business visitors.
The Convention Bureau will attend IMEX the international markets
expo in Frankfurt for the very first time in a bid to target the
more than 3,000 German conference buyers expected to attend the
show.
The exhibition which has become the worldwide benchmark for the
meetings and incentive travel industry is also anticipated to
attract around 9,000 representatives from over 130 other countries
from national and regional tourist offices, major hotel groups,
airlines, destination management companies, service providers
and trade associations.
Ian Taylor, Commercial Director for NewcastleGateshead Initiative,
said: With low cost flights now being well established from
Munich, Cologne Bonne, Hanover, Dusseldorf and Berlin it makes
perfect sense for us to now add Germany to our growing list of
international markets.
Targeting the business community in Frankfurt builds upon
Newcastle Gateshead Initiatives recent work in Berlin attending
a leading leisure exhibition to boost numbers of German tourists
taking short city breaks in NewcastleGateshead.
NewcastleGateshead Convention Bureau will jointly attend IMEX
with representatives from VisitBritain the UKs international
tourism agency strengthening its on-going partnership with the
highly influential visitor body.
